\u00c9p\u00edt\u00e9s\u00e9t 1296-ben kezdt\u00e9k el, \u00e9s Mohamed ibn Qalawun szult\u00e1n uralkod\u00e1sa alatt k\u00e9sz\u00fclt el, valamikor 1298-1303 k\u00f6z\u00f6tt.
A medresze k\u00fcl\u00f6nleges, mert egy gy\u00f6ny\u00f6r\u0171 k\u0151homlokzat \u00e9s egy m\u00e1rv\u00e1ny bej\u00e1rat jellemzi, mely kor\u00e1bban egy templom kapujak\u00e9nt szolg\u00e1lt Acre-ben, Palesztin\u00e1ban.
Bel\u00fcl a mauz\u00f3leum mecset belsej\u00e9ben az ajt\u00f3t\u00f3l jobbra tal\u00e1lhat\u00f3, \u00e9s aranyozott fa r\u00e1csokkal van k\u00f6r\u00fclv\u00e9ve. Itt van eltemetve al-Naszer Mohamed szult\u00e1n \u00e9desanyja, Aszlabai hercegn\u0151 \u00e9s az egyik fia, Anok.
