Muhammad Ali mecsete a Szalah al-Din al-Ayyubi (Szaladin) fellegv\u00e1r\u00e1ban tal\u00e1lhat\u00f3 Kair\u00f3ban. Muhammad Ali pasa \u00e9p\u00edttette 1848-ban a mamluk palot\u00e1k hely\u00e9n. Ezt a mecsetet “alab\u00e1strommecsetnek” is nevezik, utalva a bels\u0151 \u00e9s k\u00fcls\u0151 falakon tal\u00e1lhat\u00f3 l\u00e1tv\u00e1nyos alab\u00e1stromburkolatokra. A mecset iker minaretjei a legmagasabbak eg\u00e9sz Egyiptomban, mindegyik\u00fck 84 m\u00e9ter magas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A mecset f\u0151 \u00e9p\u00edt\u0151anyaga a m\u00e9szk\u0151. N\u00e9gyzetes alaprajza egy k\u00f6zponti kupol\u00e1b\u00f3l \u00e1ll, amelyet n\u00e9gy f\u00e9l t\u00e1maszt. A mecset t\u00f6r\u00f6k st\u00edlusban \u00e9p\u00fclt, ami egy nyitott udvarb\u00f3l \u00e9s imateremb\u0151l \u00e1ll. Az imaterem egy n\u00e9gyzet alak\u00fa t\u00e9r, amit egy nagy k\u00f6zponti kupola koron\u00e1z, melyet n\u00e9gy f\u00e9lkupola \u00e9s n\u00e9gy sek\u00e9ly kupola vesz k\u00f6r\u00fcl a sarkokban. A mecsetben k\u00e9t minbar (sz\u00f3sz\u00e9k) tal\u00e1lhat\u00f3. A kett\u0151 k\u00f6z\u00fcl az eredeti z\u00f6lddel d\u00edsz\u00edtett f\u00e1b\u00f3l k\u00e9sz\u00fclt. A m\u00e1sik egy k\u00e9s\u0151bbi kieg\u00e9sz\u00edt\u00e9s, mely m\u00e1rv\u00e1nyb\u00f3l k\u00e9sz\u00fclt.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A k\u00fcls\u0151 nyitott udvaron tal\u00e1lhat\u00f3 egy r\u00e9z \u00f3ratorony, amit 1845-ben a francia F\u00fcl\u00f6p Lajos aj\u00e1nd\u00e9kozott Muhammad Ali pas\u00e1nak. Muhammad Ali pasa viszonozta a gesztust II. Ramszesz (i. e. 1279-1213 k\u00f6r\u00fcl) obeliszkj\u00e9vel, ami a Luxori templom el\u0151tt \u00e1llt. Ez az obeliszk ma a p\u00e1rizsi Concorde teret \u00e9kes\u00edti.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
